Frequently Asked Questions

How fast will we run?

Group tours run at a comfortable pace ensuring that everyone can keep up and stay together. Group tours also include multiple stops along the route to reassemble and talk about the surroundings. For private and custom tours, we can run at your preferred pace.

When do I need to show up?

Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the tour and check in with the guide.

What if I am running late?

Please give your guide a call (you'll get an email with their phone number a day or two before the tour) to let them know. They will arrange for you to join for as much of the tour as possible. If they don't hear from you, however, the tour will leave at the scheduled start time. 

Will water be provided?

Participants of our group tours will be responsible for bringing their own water. Private and custom tours can have water provided if requested.

Can walkers sign up?

This is a running event so you would be expected to be able to keep up with the guide so you can hear him/her. However, we can always book a custom tour to fit whatever pace you're wanting to run/walk. 

Are there bathrooms along the route?

There is no guarantee of bathrooms along any of the tour routes, however, if "nature calls" our tour guides will work to help you find one for a quick pit stop. 

What happens if it rains?

All of our tours are held rain or shine. 

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

If you contact Running Tours USA via email or phone to cancel your purchased tour at least 48 hours prior to your tour, we will refund your money (minus any transaction fees). If we cancel your tour due to weather (lightning, tornado, etc), we will refund your purchase if you are unable to participate in another offered tour. If you do not contact us at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled tour to cancel your reservation, a refund will not be provided. 

Should we tip our guide?

Yes! Tips are not required, but they are encouraged and greatly appreciated.
